Services

Our homes are licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. We provide training in the homes such as social skills, independent living skills, behavior management, and community living skills. There is support provided in the area of transportation, medication, and community resources. The programs are staffed by training professionals that provide unique skill building and safety supports tailored to the needs of that individual.

Renewed Living Homes strives to make our homes have a family-oriented environment, so our individuals feel comfortable and welcomed every day.

ONE LEVEL LIVING

Every Renewed Living home is single-story by design. No stairs to navigate, no bedrooms out of reach, no part of the house that becomes off-limits as mobility changes. It means a resident who uses a wheelchair, walker, or simply moves more slowly than they used to has full access to their entire home — and it means a person can stay with us as they age rather than being moved again.

REGISTERED NURSE ON STAFF

A registered nurse oversees the health of every individual in our care — monitoring changes, coordinating with physicians and specialists, managing appointments and follow-through, and training our direct support staff on each resident's specific health needs. Families do not have to be the sole tracker of their family member's medical picture. Someone qualified is watching it closely.

MEDICATION MANAGEMENT

Medications are administered on schedule, stored securely, and documented every time — with physician orders followed exactly and any changes communicated promptly to families and support coordinators. Missed doses and medication errors are among the most common reasons a placement fails. We treat this as the safety-critical function it is.

POSITIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT

Behavior is communication. When an individual is struggling, our approach is to understand what the behavior is telling us — then change the environment, the routine, or our own response before asking the person to change. We work with families, support coordinators, and behavioral consultants on plans built around dignity and skill-building rather than compliance, and we document and review what is actually working.

EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE

For residents who want to work, we help make it happen — identifying interests and strengths, connecting with employers and vocational programs, preparing for interviews, arranging transportation, and providing on-the-job support for as long as it is useful. A job is rarely only about income. It is about being somewhere you are expected, doing something that counts.

HOUSEHOLD MANAGEMENT SERVICES

Residents participate in running their own home to whatever degree they are able and interested — cooking, laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, budgeting, and keeping a personal space the way they like it. Our staff handle what needs handling, but the goal is always participation over service. Skills built in a real kitchen with real groceries are skills a person keeps.
